French actress Vanessa Paradis has firmly shot down rumours during her appearance on Le Grand Journal that her 14 year relationship with Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp is over saying, “the rumour is false. Of course it is false.”
Vanessa went on to say that she felt obliged to defend her family. “That’s the kind of a rumour that could do a lot of harm to my family.
When people say that we’re buying houses, that we’ve got 52 houses, that we split up every winter and get married every summer, that I’m pregnant for the twelfth time. You know all that’s not serious.
But on the other hand when it could harm my children…
I think it’s all just business. That’s all because … I don’t know … the Queen of England hasn’t lost a tooth this week, so they’ve got to find something. And the magazines end up on the fire or in the bathroom, and that’s that.”
Depp has long been vocal in his praise of Paradis with whom he has two children - Lily-Rose, 12, and Jack,9. Depp has previously said;
“I went through 35 years of a strange dark fog. I never really quite understood what the point of anything was, you know, in life. It wasn’t until Vanessa and then the birth of our daughter that I finally realized that there is something to live for. I didn’t have the greatest childhood, but you know, so what, plenty of people have been through more difficult and devastating things and you just have to get through that. That whole thing of wanting to do drugs and wanting to numb yourself, you know, it’s just postponing the inevitable.”
